An addition to the family, Christmas Sale, Rockwell Razors & More...!

So if you're like the rest of us, you've had a big few days. Christmas has been and gone, you've probably over indulged on food, perhaps hit the boxing day sales and hopefully spent some quality time with family and friends along with given and probably received a heap of gifts!
Well it's been no different at Ministry of Shave over the past fortnight. We've been a bit quiet of late and with good reason, welcoming into our own family the birth of our first child, Madeleine Grace Jordan. Born on 11 of December, she has kept us on our toes from day one and needless to say we are completely in love with her. Mum and Madeleine are both doing well at home, and we were wrapt to have them home for Christmas.!
We were also lucky enough to get a shoutout over night from the great people of the I Choose SA Campaign. I Choose SA is a promotion of South Australian Businesses who manufacture, operate or who are owned right here in South Australia. We ar ehuge supporters of Adelaide, South Australia and Australia as a whole and firmly believe we can produce world class products and services right here in Australia. Our monthly charity nominee, Dog rescue Newcastle are going to receive a sizeable donation to their fundraising efforts via our contributions from all sales via our website for the month of December. This money will go directly to rehoming, feeding, veterinary bills and finding new homes for lost, abandoned and surrendered dogs.
So over and above this, we attended the Gilles St markets, right here in Adelaide Australia which was our first foray into the market scene since our launch in mid November. It was a fantastic day out in which we were flat out all day. We received fantastic feedback, with most people being amazed that we could produce such high quality products right here in Adelaide. Thanks to everyone who came and said hello, made a purchase and offered words of encouragement. It was unreal. We only had a day to prepare with a last minute decision to attend given the prior few days of chaos with the birth of Madeleine but managed to pull together a cracking stall.
So our partnership with Option 5 razors didn't quite go as planned as with their own demand they were unable to supply us with the amount of units were initially sold on pre order. For those who ordered these as presents for Christmas for others we are deeply sorry for letting you down and not being able to deliver to you on time but we hope we gave you enough notice to be able to organise something else for your loved one. For the people who are still waiting, Option 5 were good enough to fill the orders we had already taken and we are expecting these to come into Australia on January 3. As soon as we have them in we will send them out express post direct to you. Thanks so much for your patience. Unfortunately we aren't sure if or when we will be stocking these again so in the meantime we have removed them from our website and won't be taking anymore orders until further notice. We do hope that in the coming months we will be able to offer these to you again.
Once we found that stocking Option 5 razors was going to be impossible, we immediately went on the hunt for a replacement quality razor to stock and came across the Rockwell razor series made in Canada. For those who aren't aware, Rockwell got their start in the shaving industry via a kickstarter campaign which has catapulted them into the double edge razor scene with huge success. We will be initially be stocking their 6s razor, along with their razor stand, sheaths and blades. These products are a quality product where no shortcuts have been taken and we are excited to have them on board. Rockwell have taken double edge razors to a new level and have a further kickstarted campaign on Indigogo for their next series of razors called the Model T. These will be available in March or April at this stage. Once we have these in stock they will be immediately available via our website.

So that is us for the time being! It's been a full on couple of months but we are excited about what the year ahead will bring. We will continue to bring you the best quality shaving products made right here in Australia and expand the range as the year goes on. We are looking to attend some further boutique markets in 2017 in Melbourne and Sydney while at the same time remaining home her win Adelaide and attending other local markets as well.
